Veterans invited to Vietnam Era event
Veterans from the suburbs are invited to The Vietnam Era Event in Elmwood Park next weekend.
New Horizon Temple, 2700 N. Harlem Ave., will host a Three Soldiers life-size display, Moving Wall miniature display and Apollo mission replica, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. Food and refreshments will be served.
At 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, a memorial service will be held with a flag ceremony and color guard, and guest speaker John Wolfram, who was a Navy frogman that helped recover the Apollo 11 astronauts after their historical moon landing. A reunion reception follows at 1 p.m. featuring 1960s war songs.
