Enjoy the lazy, hazy days of Lindenfest Aug. 8-11

It's time again for the village of Lindenhurst's annual summer celebration, Lindenfest. The event will run 5:30-10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8; 5:30 p.m. to midnight Friday, Aug. 9; Noon to midnight Saturday, Aug. 10; and Noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at Lindenhurst village hall, 2301 E. Sand Lake Road, Lindenhurst.

The event offers food and other vendors, a carnival, bingo, the village pageant, a parade, children's activities and more.

The annual Little Miss, Junior Miss and Miss Lindenhurst Pageant will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the main stage. For information, visit lindenhurstpageant.weebly.com.

The parade will step off at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from Bonner Farm, 201 Country Place, and proceed west on Sand Lake Road to Valley Drive. The theme for this year's parade will be "Saluting Our First Responders."

The annual Mayor's Auction will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on the Lindenfest Main Stage. All auction proceeds will go toward Lindenfest 2020. For information, call village hall at (847) 356-8252.

Scheduled musical acts include BlueGrassify at 7 p.m. and 7th Heaven at 9:30 p.m. Friday; Gone Country at 5 p.m. MixTape at 7 p.m. and Gina Gonzalez & the Wingmen at 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and a Battle of the Bands at noon Sunday.

Bingo will be offered every day of the festival. Players can win half of the money collected at each game, and the winner takes all at every 7th game. A baggo tournament will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The carnival will offer rides and games, and will be open from 6-10 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 1-5 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Unlimited ride specials are available for $25 for 6-10 p.m. Thursday or 1-5 p.m. Saturday or Sunday; or for $30 for 6-10 p.m. Friday or Saturday; a four-day Mega Pass is available for $65, or $55 in advance.
