Road work leads to closures on Route 22 in Lake Barrington

Route 22 in Lake Barrington will be closed between Harbor Drive and Old Barrington Road starting July 22 while Illinois Department of Transportation crews improve the road, authorities said Tuesday.

Crews will be conducting culvert repairs, pavement patching and replacing guardrails where Route 22 crosses Flint Creek in Lake Barrington, according to IDOT.

Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time when driving in the area. Traffic will be detoured to Route 14 and North Hough Road, officials said.

The work is expected to be complete by the end of August.
