Join U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider on bike ride July 21

U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider is inviting constituents to join him for his third annual "Bike the Tenth" bike ride set for 9 a.m. Sunday, July 21.

The 17-mile trek begins and ends at Big Bend Lake Picnic Grove #1 in Des Plaines and will feature brief stops at Allison Woods Picnic Grove in Northbrook and Potawatomi Woods Picnic Grove in Wheeling.


Riders of all ages are invited to join in this family-friendly event. Helmets are absolutely required for all riders. Bring hydration (water bottles), sun block, hats, food and cash if you would like to purchase something along the ride.

Riders are asked to be at the start by 8:45 a.m. The ride will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and is expected to last about three hours. To RSVP online, visit and search for "Bike the Tenth."

In 2017, the ride was in the Round Lake Area, and in 2018 it began and ended at the National Museum of the American Sailor near Naval Station Great Lakes.
