Libertyville students pair music, acting talents for summer show

Students in the Libertyville Elementary School District 70's Orchestra II summer school class had a chance to pair their musical talents with their acting skills Wednesday.

Students Valerie Allen (The Goose), Adhya Duggal (Aunt Rhodie) and Max Holland (Pierre the Chef) acted out "Aunt Rhodie's Appetite" as the orchestra played along at Highland Middle School in Libertyville.

Highland orchestra teacher Carol Janossy directed the students and fielded questions from parents about band opportunities in the upcoming school year. Janossy encourages the young musicians to play their instruments daily, starting with bow warm-ups and scales and to play songs they like to play.

Thursday is the final day of the district's summer school classes.
