Six Gurnee homes burglarized overnight Thursday

Six homes in the Stonebrook neighborhood of Gurnee were burglarized overnight Thursday, according to police.

In each case, one or more people entered the homes through unlocked back doors or open garage doors, Gurnee police said. Wallets and purses were taken from each home.

 

Police obtained security video from a neighbor that shows a man trying to open a rear sliding-glass door. When the man discovered the door was locked, he walked away.

Police encouraged residents to lock their doors. Anyone who has information about the burglaries or who can identify the man in the video footage is should call authorities at (847) 599-7000.
