I love this photo of the Northern Flicker coming to the nest cavity. It's not often to get to see the yellow under the wings and tail. Bonnie Graham of Lombard
This photo was taken in Lake Bled, Slovenia. Julie DeSilvia of Des Plaines
This isn't a double exposure. The Apple store's curved corner window creates a funhouse reflection of the Chicago skyline. At the bottom left are customers inside the store. It was an overcast day so I selected my phone's incandescent light setting to give the photo a blue cast. Ken Juranek of Des Plaines
It was a rainy day, like most this spring, so I took a photo of raindrops on a Fir Tree. I try to find beauty in every thing ... even if we are sick of all the rain. Cindy Spudich of Lake Zurich
Late one evening, on a recent trip to Florida my son tries his hand at shrimping - one shrimp at a time. He is looking into his shrimping net to grab another shrimp. I like this picture showing him with his waders and headlight on. He illuminates the water around him as the lights of Tampa Bay illuminates the horizon in the background. Bob Stadlman of Mundelein
This is a photo of the Sandhill Crane migration on the Platte River in Kearney, Nebraska in March 2019. It is one of the last great migrations in North America with over 600,000 birds flying north every spring. Vince Fergus of Roselle
I recently took this photo of grizzly bears playing at Brookfield Zoo. The bears did not look too ferocious as they enjoyed a dip in the pool on a warm spring day. Robert M. Sharp of Gilberts
A ray of sunshine through the tulips recently experienced at the Chicago Botanic Garden! I think they captivated a ray of hope with the never ending rain deluge this Spring in the Chicagoland area. Rose Guarrine of Mount Prospect
I took my children to the Brookfield Zoo and the polar bear was enjoying the nice weather. Michael Espinos of Cary
I took this photo of a Great Blue Heron below the dam at Lake Decatur downstate. There were a few herons fishing there along with many people. I liked the way the feathers are swaying in the breeze which almost looked like it was posing for me. The different textures of the bird, the rushing water and the metal wall were interesting. Nancy Havener of Naperville
A devoted 38-year-old mother at the San Diego Zoo is breastfeeding her 4-year-old baby gorilla. After learning that she has had 8 babies, I realized that this devoted mother has been breastfeeding for 32 years! Gail Jaroski of Lombard
Baby robins in our front hedge. Love those cute little faces with their mom always close by. John Krahulec of Geneva
Loved the colors on this young cardinal. Wayne Reed of West Dundee
Marching in the Libertyville Memorial Day Parade was this Boy Scout proudly carrying the flag (5/27/2019). I felt this photo respectfully captured the Memorial Day mood. Jude R. Saucedo of Libertyville
This photo was taken in Lake Bled, Slovenia. Julie DeSilvia of Des Plaines
