Lakemoor man sentenced to 6 years on child pornography charge
A Lakemoor man was sentenced Tuesday to six years in prison after admitting he sought and received nude images from a 14-year-old girl in Minnesota, authorities say.
Thomas Zurawski, 27, of the 500 block of Santa Barbara Road, admitted to a charge of solicitation of child pornography as part of a plea deal reached with McHenry County prosecutors. As part of the negotiated plea, prosecutors dismissed a pair of related felony charges.
The charges stemmed from an investigation launched by Lakemoor police after they received information from detectives in Rochester, Minnesota, that identified Zurawski as a person soliciting and receiving child pornography from a 14-year-old girl in that state.
Zurawski admitted to the solicitation to police, prosecutors said. He was charged in February.
