Rolling Meadows shooting investigation continues; no one in custody

Rolling Meadows police say they're continuing to investigate the exchange of gunfire outside a Walmart store Saturday that left one man injured.

Nobody is in custody in connection with the shooting, which occurred about 4:35 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the store off Golf and Algonquin roads, police said Tuesday.

A 24-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to police. The injury was not considered life-threatening, police said.

Authorities say the gunfire erupted when an altercation occurred during a child custody exchange in the store parking lot.

Police said Tuesday they expect to have more information to release by the end of the week.
