Tour the Stevenson house in Mettawa

Public tours of Adlai E. Stevenson II's former house in Mettawa are available June 13 and June 27.

Stevenson, a former Illinois governor, presidential candidate and U.S. ambassador, lived in the house at 25200 N. St. Mary's Road for many years. It's now owned and maintained by the Lake County Forest Preserve District.

Tours will run from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. each day. Admission is $5 for Lake County residents and $7 for nonresidents.
