Picnic in the Park in Arlington Heights means summer is almost here

It started feeling a little bit more like summer Friday evening at North School Park in Arlington Heights, where families brought blankets and picnic baskets and enjoyed the sounds of the tropics.

Picnic in the Park - the park district's annual kickoff to the summer season - featured food trucks, bounce houses, balloon artists, face painting and crafts. Mr. Myers Band entertained with a mix of reggae, soca/calypso and beach music, led by leader/founder Todd Donnelly's steel drums and percussion.
