From customer service to coordinating community news

Norrine Twohey began her career with the Daily Herald in 1986 as a customer service representative in the Circulation department, resolving delivery complaints and billing problems. She later moved to circulation dispatch supervisor, providing support to branch managers, division supervisors and customer service representatives.

In 1996, Norrine joined the paper's Editorial department as an editorial assistant in charge of producing Commitments, a supplement to the Daily Herald containing wedding, engagement and anniversary announcements.

Currently, Norrine is the Cook County Community News coordinator, a position she has held since 2007.

In this role, she is responsible for the preparation and scheduling of all content that appears on the inside pages of the Daily Herald's three Cook County Neighbor sections.

She also compiles the weekly "Neighbors in the News" column, a column of reader accomplishments.

Norrine graduated from Wilbur Wright College, Chicago, and attended Elmhurst College as an education major. A native of Chicago, she has lived in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago since 1976.
