Woman struck by car in Elk Grove industrial park
A 24-year-old woman is recovering from serious injuries after being struck by a car Tuesday night in Elk Grove Village, authorities said Wednesday.
The pedestrian was with a male companion on the 500 block of Busse Road when she was struck in the northbound curb lane by the driver of a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivan, according to Deputy Police Chief Michael Gaspari. First responders were called to the scene at 8:53 p.m. and took the victim to the hospital, he said.
Police have talked to the Des Plaines man who was behind the wheel, but no citations or arrests have been made as the police department's traffic unit continues investigating the crash, Gaspari said.
The crash occurred on the north end of Elk Grove's industrial park, where Busse Road has three lanes each going both northbound and southbound.
