Lake Zurich elementary school students selling lemonade to raise money for cancer research

Students at May Whitney Elementary School in Lake Zurich will wrap up a week of selling lemonade to raise money for cancer research on Friday. The fourth- and fifth-grade students, who are part of the Student Leadership Council, have volunteered their time all week to sell lemonade to their peers. All profits will be donated to the national organization, Alex's Lemonade Stand, which was founded by the parents of Alexandra Scott, who died of cancer when she was 4 years old. The charity raises money for scientific research and provides resources for children battling cancer.
