Boating restrictions lifted on the Fox River, Chain O' Lakes

The Fox Waterway Agency has lifted all boating restrictions on the Fox River and Chain O' Lakes.

Officials from the agency in Fox Lake announced the no-wake restriction on the Fox River between McHenry and Algonquin was lifted at 2 p.m. Tuesday. A debris advisory remains in effect due to heavy rainfall dislodging obstacles like large tree limbs and other items. Boaters should continue to use caution when traveling across the water.

The Fox River and Chain O' Lakes had been either restricted to no-wake or closed completely since heavy rainfall was recorded across the area in mid-May. For more information, visit the Fox Waterway Agency website at foxwaterway.com.
