Round Lake Beach man charged with shooting Beach Park house

A Round Lake Beach man has been charged with a felony after he fired several rounds at the Beach Park house of his ex-wife's husband, authorities said.

Kennett J. Andrews, 45, who lives on the 300 block of Meadow Green Lane, has been charged with one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm, according to a news release by the Lake County sheriff's office Friday morning.

Andrews went to a house on the 12900 block of West Wakefield Drive in Beach Park to confront the husband of his ex-wife, police said.

He knocked on the front door about 10:35 a.m. Thursday. A person inside the house opened the door, saw Andrews was outside, and closed the door. Andrews then shot the closed door several times and fled, according to the news release.

Andrews remains at Lake County jail until his bond is set by a judge on Friday.
