Woman struck by car in domestic dispute in Palatine

A 70-year-old woman was struck by a car Monday in what police are calling a domestic dispute at a Palatine gas station.

Officers were called the station near Dundee and Hicks roads about noon Monday. The woman was found on the ground with a head injury and taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for treatment, according to police.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, police said, the 70-year-old was among several people involved in an altercation in the station's parking lot. They said the woman was struck by a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old woman who was attempting to leave the gas station.

Police said patrol and investigative personnel continue to investigate the case.
