Vince and Pat Foglia receive Barrington-area Citizen of the Year honor

The nonprofit Barrington Area Development Council handed out Citizen of the Year and lifetime achievement honors this week. North Barrington residents and philanthropists Vince and Pat Foglia received the organization's 45th Citizen of the Year honor. Despite the Foglias' longtime generosity in the Barrington area and elsewhere, this was the first time they were nominated for Citizen of the Year, said Joe Kelsch Jr., who chairs the award committee. The nonprofit also recognized Norval Stephens for lifetime achievement. Stephens is a Barrington resident and noted community volunteer. Nancy Gianni, chief belief officer of GiGi's Playhouse, keynoted the awards dinner at Wild Onion Pub and Brewery in Lake Barrington. Citizen of the Year nominees represented, but were not limited to, fields such as youth service, public service, philanthropy, health care, conservation, preservation, education and transportation
