'Pirates of Penzance' auditions in Antioch

Open auditions for "The Pirates of Penzance," a comic opera, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21, at PM & L Theatre's Tribute Hall, 877 Main St., Antioch.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. and actors will be seen in order of their arrival. Ten female-identifying roles, any ethnicity, and 12 male-identifying roles, any ethnicity, will be cast. Those auditioning should be prepared to sing a Gilbert and Sullivan song, or a song in the style of the show, and there also may be cold readings from the script. "The Pirates of Penzance" will run for three weekends, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, beginning July 26. Call (847) 395-3055 or visit www.pmltheatre.com.
