Lake County leaders host town halls on environment

Several Lake County Board members and state representatives will host environmental town halls on Saturday, April 27 and May 4. On April 27, State Representatives Mary Edly-Allen and Daniel Didech will be joined by County Board Member Jessica Vealitzek. The second town hall, on May 4, will feature Representative Sam Yingling and Board Member John Wasik. Lake County Board Chairwoman Sandy Hart will speak at both events. The events are sponsored by Sierra Club and Livable Lake County. Updates will be provided and public input sought on transportation solutions for Lake County, clean energy initiatives, and protection for woods, wetlands, biodiversity and open space. The April 27 event is at 2 p.m. at Hawthorn Woods Village Hall, 2 Lagoon Drive. The May 4 town hall is at noon at Prairie Crossing Charter School, 1531 Jones Point Road, Grayslake.
