Lake Zurich police, DEA hosting Drug Take Back event April 27

The Lake Zurich Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will collect potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

Residents can bring their pills for disposal to the Lake Zurich Police Department, 200 Mohawk Trail, Lake Zurich. The service is free and anonymous.

Last spring, Americans turned in 457 tons (914,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at more than 5,800 sites operated by the DEA and more than 4,700 of its state and local law enforcement partners. Overall, in its 16 previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners have taken in more than 10 million pounds of pills.
