Lake County hosts open house May 1 on bicycling study

The Lake County Division of Transportation is hosting a public open house regarding a bike wayfinding and signage study.

The event is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the agency's office, 600 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville.

The purpose of the study is to develop a wayfinding strategy and establish guidelines and sign templates to enhance the bikeways in Lake County and give users a better understanding of where they are on the trails and make it easier to find connecting destinations. This could lead to increased usage of the bike path network and encourage nonmotorized transportation options, according to LCDOT.

Project representatives will be available to answer questions and gather input. Call (847) 377-7400 for more information.
