16-year-old girl stabbed at DuPage Forest Preserve


A 16-year-old girl was stabbed while on a trail at the Timber Forest Preserve near West Chicago at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County officials said.

The girl, who was not identified, did not suffer serious injuries in the attack but was taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield for treatment, according to Forest Preserve District of DuPage County spokesman Tony Martinez.

Martinez said no suspect has been apprehended yet.

Forest Preserve District Police were called to assist DuPage County sheriff's office, and Forest Preserve Police are now leading the investigation, Martinez said.
