CLC students to vie for $1,000 in Shark Tank-style competition

Like on an episode of "Shark Tank," College of Lake County students will present their creative, leading-edge ideas for products or services to a panel at the fourth annual Big Idea contest and awards ceremony on April 15 at the Grayslake Campus. Instead of Mark Cuban and Barbara Corcoran, the panel will include a patent attorney and members of the college's business administration advisory committee. The competition is designed to foster entrepreneurship, innovation and partnership with local businesses, according to Patty Clark, CLC business professor and main organizer of the event. A $1,000 grand prize will be awarded to the first-place winner, with $500 for second place and $250 for the third-place finisher. The ceremony, which is open to the public, will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 15, in conference room A013.
