Arbor Day art contest in Arlington Heights

The Arlington Heights Park District has kicked off its Arbor Day tree drawing contest for children pre-K to sixth grade.

Entry forms are available at ahpd.org and can be submitted at any of the park district community centers or administration center before April 19. The winner will be selected based on creativity, originality, composition and relevancy to the Arbor Day theme. The park district's parks and planning and marketing staff will select winners.

Winners in three age categories will be awarded at the annual Arbor Day celebration, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Greenbrier Park. The festivities include a performance by the students of Greenbrier Elementary School, a tree planting ceremony, and remarks from village and park district officials.
