UP Northwest line trains moving, but major delays after pedestrian was hit

The Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line is experiencing significant delays after a person was hit by a train near Edison Park, the Metra website is reporting.

Metra is reporting trains are moving again with current inbound train delays ranging from 15 minutes to 90 minutes.

Metra spokesman Tom Miller said the pedestrian was struck and killed by the Metra train #618 around 7:30 a.m. near the Edison Park station.

He said schedules are expected to be back on track well before the evening rush hour.
