Learn to use native plants at home through Fremont Library event

Simple ways to include native plants in the home landscape is the topic of the next Wild Ones Lake to Prairie Chapter meeting, set for 7 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Fremont Public Library, 1170 North Midlothian Road, Mundelein.

Rory Klick, horticulture professor, landscape designer and restoration ecologist, will share tips and techniques for going native. The presentation will include native plants for shade, sun, wet and dry microclimates; how to design with natives and maximize their functional role in the landscape; and where to find native plants and seeds to purchase.
