Woman reports kidnap at gunpoint in Bloomingdale

Authorities are asking people to call 911 if they spot a man suspected of kidnapping a woman a gunpoint in Bloomingdale.

The 21-year-old woman said she was abducted at gunpoint at about 4:30 p.m. Friday from a parking lot in the 300 block of West Army Trail Road in Bloomingdale, and forced to drive to “a number of locations” in the areas of Glendale Heights and Elgin, where she was released, Bloomingdale police said in a news release Saturday morning.

The man fled in a taxi to the area of Roosevelt Road and Clark Street in Chicago, police said.

He is described as white, in his late 30s, unshaven, with a thin build and receding hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark maroon hooded sweatshirt with white lining inside the hood, police said.

Officers from the criminal investigation section of the Bloomingdale Police Department have been following up on leads on the case and are working with the Elgin and Chicago police departments, the release said.
