Bartlett garage fire causes minor injury, leaves home uninhabitable

A resident suffered minor burn and a Bartlett house was left uninhabitable by a fire in an attached three-car garage on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bartlett Fire Protection District received the call to the 1800 block of Burton Drive at 1:50 p.m., arrived at 1:55 p.m. and declared the fire under control at 2:50 p.m.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Thursday, and a monetary estimate of damage had not yet been determined.

The injured resident was treated at the scene. No firefighters were hurt.

The fire caused significant damage to the garage and smoke damage to the house.

Firefighters from Streamwood, South Elgin, Elgin and West Chicago assisted Bartlett units while Bartlett police provided traffic and crowd control.
