Issue questions

What are the most important issues facing your community and how do you intend to address them?

One of the most important issues facing Mount Prospect is the development of the Downtown Area. We as Trustees can help by attracting private developers to invest in our community. By controlling zoning issues we can develop properties which enhance our community and provide funding to improve our schools, parks, and infrastructure, Thus improving the entire community. Another project is Improvement of the Air traffic noise in our community. I have been working as a member of the Chicago Executive Noise Committee to try to reduce the sound levels over our community. I am against expansion of the North South Runway. A third area where I have been active is controlling stormwater run off (Flood Control) and Levy 37 reducing the overflow of the Des Plaines River.

What makes you the best candidate for the job?

What makes me the best candidate for Village Trustee is my vast experience in dealing with the issues in Mount Prospect. Using my knowledge as an Architect and Professional Engineer for the past 38 years as a servant of the Village gives me a unique insight on how to compromise with state, local, and federal agencies to expedite solutions on Village issues.

Describe your leadership style and explain how you think that will be effective in producing actions and decisions with your village board or city council.

My leadership style to resolving decisions on the Village Board is based on doing the proper research and fact finding of the issues, state my opinion, search for constructive cooperation between The Mayor, Trustees and effected Village Residents. Then voting my conscience for or against the final outcome.

How would you describe the condition of your community's budget, and what are the most important specific actions the town should take to assure providing the level of services people want?

The Village's budget is in excellent condition: By the conservative fiscal policy of the current board of trustees Mount Prospect has been able to maintain an Industry Standard Rating of AA+. Because of our vision to annex about 40 acres of land on the South Side of the Village we have increased the industrial Real Estate Tax Base which has allowed us to enact NO Village Real Estate tax increase for the Village residents. We can provide improved services to our residents without any tax increases. Be aware that the Village's share of your Real Estate Tax bill is only about 11 percent,

What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?

One good idea that has not had much exposure that will greatly better the community is additional annexation of the County land on the South Side of Mount Prospect. This will again reduce Real Estate Taxes for The Residents, but more importantly allow for future development of the O'Hare Office and Warehouse Expansion area to improve the South Side of the Village.
