Issue questions
What are the most important issues facing your community and how do you intend to address them?
The HB 270 (Streamlined Sales Tax). Work with our Lobbyist and join hands with other local villages. Also, the future of Hawthorn Mall - we will be talking with their representatives about strategy plans for the growth and future of the mall.
What makes you the best candidate for the job?
My Experience and overall Knowledge, I have been a High School Teacher, Businessman, owned & operated an automobile dealership (Marquardt Motor Sales) and Real Estate Business (Rubemary Enterprises C W Marquardt Inc.). I have worked with the infrastructure of a village. I am personable and approachable.
Describe your leadership style and explain how you think that will be effective in producing actions and decisions with your village board or city council.
My leadership style is best described as: the difference between a boss and a leader. A leader delegates, as to where a boss "rolls up his sleeves" and participates in the action. I do my homework by gather information, talking to residence, board member and staff.
How would you describe the condition of your community's budget, and what are the most important specific actions the town should take to assure providing the level of services people want
We are a financially sound village, Triple A rating. Our revenue is made from sales tax dollars not property tax. We need to keep in line of our businesses needs, wants and changes. Keeping our community safe, making our school's education stronger and provide for our senior citizens.
What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?
I would like to see are village continue to go green with the help of Solar and Wind Energy.
