MCC offers free college readiness workshops starting Wednesday

McHenry County College will conduct a series of workshops starting Wednesday on college readiness for high school juniors to get organized for next fall's college application season.

Workshops will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, March 6, March 13 and March 20 in Room A221 of the Crystal Lake college, 8900 Route 14.

The four-part series aims to provide students with the tools, knowledge and confidence to start the college application and decision process. Seniors and sophomores also can register.

Workshop topics include: personal college needs, wants, match and fit assessment; college research tools and strategies; letters of recommendation and resume planning; researching college costs; and personal statements and essay questions.

Students are encouraged to attend all four sessions. Register online to reserve a seat at mchenry.edu/ready.
