Wheaton police: Woman tried to lure minor

Wheaton Police said Thursday that a women attempted to lure a minor into her van near Elm and Naperville roads.

According to a release on the village's website, an Edison Middle School student was walking home around 3:15 p.m. when a newer model silver minivan pulled alongside the child. Police say a white, 40-year-old female with blond, curly hair asked the child if they wanted candy. The minor said no, and the suspect continued east on Elm Street from Naperville Road.
