'Salt Houses' the focus of Palatine library discussion

"Salt Houses" by Hala Alyan will be featured during the next adult book discussion at the Palatine Public Library, set for 9:30 to 11 a.m. March 1.

The novel is about a character named Salma who foresees blessings and troubles in the lives of her daughter and grandchildren. Salma endures hardships stemming from the Six-Day War of 1967 in Palestine before rebuilding in Kuwait, until the family is scattered by Saddam Hussein's regime.
