Lake County Audubon discusses Indiana birding March 4

"Birding the Indiana Dunes and Beyond" is the topic of the Lake County Audubon Society meeting at 7:30 p.m. March 4, at Libertyville village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave.

Brad Bumgardner, executive director for the Indiana Audubon Society and chair of the annual Indiana Dunes Birding Festival, is the featured speaker. From high dune oak forests, restored grasslands, and interdunal wetlands, more than 370 species of birds have been found at the far south shore of Lake Michigan and about 1,000 attend the annual birding festival each May.

Doors open at 7:15 p.m. and lock at 7:45 p.m. Children are welcome.
