Believe Project: $100 for medically fragile children

Today's recipient of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Meg Cole of Carol Stream. Here is an excerpt of her story:

"I would like to nominate a young mother with two medically fragile children, ages 8 and 4. They are both on ventilators and feeding tubes and are not able to walk.

"The mother is single and struggles to pay for the necessary supplies, much less anything fun for her family. In addition, the van that would allow them to take the kids anywhere just broke down.

"They are not even able to make necessary medical appointments, let alone go to family or fun events.

"I would match the $100. While this is not enough to solve their transportation problem, it would give them some relief and hopefully some joy."

• The Believe Project is awarding at least $100 daily in January to people with good ideas for how to use the money to do a good deed for someone else.
