Believe Project: $100 for mon who never complains
Today's recipient of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Lisa Scarpaci of Mount Prospect. Here is an excerpt of her story:
"If I had $100 to give, I'd give it to my mother. She turned 60 on Sept. 11 and has been battling Parkinson's disease since the age of 28. She amazes me every day with her determination and her attitude, and I never hear her complain.
"She doesn't have much, yet still remains happy.
"If I could give my mother the world, I would."
• The Believe Project is awarding at least $100 daily in January to people with good ideas for how to use the money to do a good deed for someone else.
