Major comics artist gets exhibition at Harper College

The work of prominent comics artist Will Eisner will be the subject of a Harper College exhibition opening later this month. Eisner, who was born in 1917 and died in 2005, is one of the most significant artists in the history of comic books and comics studies. "The Comic Art of Will Eisner" will include drawings from Eisner's earliest comics to the innovative storytelling experiments he produced in the final decades of his long and varied career. Guest curated by Brian Cremins, Harper associate professor of English, the free exhibition runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday from Jan. 22 to Feb. 21 in the Art Exhibition Space, Building C, Room C200, on Harper College's main campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine. More information is at harpercollege.edu/arts.
