$100 to help woman with cancer and another who supports homeless

Today we have two recipients of a $100 bill through the Believe Project.

The first is Judy Bowes of Grayslake. Here is an excerpt of her story:

"I have a divorced friend who recently retired and found out she has breast cancer. She is almost through with radiation and waiting for the next step in the recovery process.

"She has no family to help her, so $100 would go a long way in assist her with gas money to get to treatment.

"She is going through this pretty much alone and has kept her spirits up as we talk by phone. This gift would be make her smile."

The second recipient is Lynn Cirrincione of Elk Grove Village. Here is an excerpt from her story:

"Moniczka Stajniak from Elk Grove collects clothing and other personal essentials for homeless in Chicago's streets. She is a member of many Facebook pages to garner donations. She gathers items and personally walks the streets to distribute to those in need. She spends her weekends bundled up with a wagon helping those less fortunate. With the weather changing, she is looking for hats, clothes and thermal underwear. The $100 from the Believe project would make a difference to many clients in the street.

"Please support her and the army of people that donate to help her less fortunate clients."

• Starting today, the Believe Project is awarding $100 each day in December to two people with good ideas for how to use the money to do a good deed for someone else.
