Palatine man accused of felony marijuana possession

Palatine police say a 20-year-old man was seized on suspicion of possessing at least 100 grams of marijuana. Daniel Trejo of the 1400 block of North Ports O' Call Drive in the village was charged with one count of felony possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and one count of felony unlawful possession of cannabis. Police said they stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 1400 block of North Ports O'Call Drive about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday and, as officers spoke with the driver, they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Police said Trejo admitted having the pot in the vehicle. He's free on a $10,000 recognizance bond ahead of trial. He's to appear in Cook County court in Rolling Meadows on Jan. 10.
