Families invited to Breakfast with Santa at Palatine American Legion Hall

The Sons of the American Legion will hold a special holiday pancake breakfast with Santa from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the American Legion Hall, 122 W. Palatine Road, Palatine.

The breakfast is open to the public and will raise funds for Legion Family Charities.

"We are celebrating the Holidays at this pancake breakfast," said Gerard Iannuzzelli, Commander of the S.A.L. "We will be holding our breakfast upstairs in our hall. Santa will be joining us from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a, m. Children will be able to tell Santa what they want for Christmas and get a picture with Santa for $5 or for $3 with the donation of a nonperishable food item for the Palatine Township Food Pantry."

The S.A.L. will be serving "all you can eat" pancakes and French toast. With the pancakes and French toast, the S.A.L. will serve sausage, scrambled eggs, fruit, orange juice, coffee and milk. The breakfast is $9, $5 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger.

"We are always looking for new members for the Palatine Sons of the American Legion," said Iannuzzelli. "If you are interested in supporting those individuals who have defended our country then the S.A.L. is the organization for you. Dues are $16 per year or $69 for five years. The Sons of the American Legion was created in 1932 as an organization within the American Legion. The S.A.L. is made up of boys and men of all ages whose parents or grandparent served in the United States military and became eligible for membership in the American Legion. There are currently 300,000 members of the S.A.L. in this country and abroad.

The Palatine Chapter holds its monthly general meeting at 10:30 a.m. the first Saturday of the month at the American Legion Hall on Palatine Road in Palatine.
