Property assessment appeals can be filed in Palatine Township

Palatine Township will accept Cook County Board of Review property assessment appeals through Dec. 27. Seminars on assessment will be led by Cook County Commissioner Dan Patlak on Wednesday, Dec. 5, and Thursday, Dec. 6, at Palatine village hall, 200 E. Wood St. Both begin at 6:30 p.m. Residents need only attend one of the seminars, but are not required to do so in order to file an appeal. The township assessor's office at 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine can assist residents with the appeals by walking them through how to fill out required forms and more. Residents are asked to bring their current tax bill with them, and no appointment is needed. "We invite our Township residents to take advantage of this free service to assist them with filing a property tax appeal," said Palatine Township Assessor Terry Kelly.
