Rollins Road to reopen after long delay

After an extended repair project, Rollins Road between Fairfield Road and Wilson Road in the Round Lake area was expected to open to traffic Friday evening. The culvert replacement project is not complete but the remaining work can be done despite traffic, according to the Lake County Division of Transporation. The project began Oct. 15 and was to have taken 14 calendar days. A series of circumstances that delayed the project tried the patience of thousands of motorists who had to take a long detour around Long Lake. Motorists are advised to watch for flaggers and daily lane closures as the work concludes.
