Mount Prospect police seek hit-and-run driver

Mount Prospect police are searching for the driver of a car who hit a 66-year-old pedestrian in the village's downtown Friday afternoon and sped from the scene.

The silver, four-dour sedan struck the man at 2:34 p.m. Friday in the intersection of Emerson Street and Prospect Avenue, police said. After the collision, the driver continued traveling west on Prospect.

Police found the man lying in road. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries and released later that evening.
