Rosemont man facing 30 charges alleging theft, unlawful credit card use

Salvador Nunez, 18, of Rosemont, faces 30 felony counts of unlawful credit card use and identity theft, police said Saturday.

The Rosemont Public Safety Department said it received a report Oct. 25 of theft from a motor vehicle in which the victim's credit card was stolen. That credit card later was used at five different sites within Rosemont for a total of 15 transactions, police said.

Police identified Nunez as a suspect after reviewing surveillance video. He was found and held for investigation Nov. 14.

After further reviewing footage from surveillance cameras in Rosemont and interviews with Nunez, authorities charged him with 15 felony counts of unlawful use of a credit card and 15 felony counts of identity theft, police said.

Nunez will appear before a judge for a bond hearing this weekend. Bond has not been set at this time.
