Schaumburg police to conduct missing person training exercise

The Schaumburg Police Department will conduct a mock missing persons exercise in the area of the Schaumburg Boomers Stadium and the Metra parking lots on South Springinsguth Road from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, according to a news release.

The department's search and rescue unit is made up of around 20 part-time auxiliary supervisors and officers and full-time community service officers, according to the release.

Members of the unit receive specialized training, and their job is to supplement the efforts of other divisions in searches, the release said.
