Palatine's Chicago Culinary Kitchen featured on this week's 'Check, Please!'

Palatine's Chicago Culinary Kitchen will be one of the restaurants reviewed Friday on the WTTW-Channel 11 show “Check, Please!”

Chicago resident and “YouTuber” Sean Ely submitted Chicago Culinary Kitchen to the show, which airs at 8 p.m. Friday. The episode also will feature Chicago eateries The Madison Bar and Chiya Chai.

Owners Kristina and Greg Gaardbo dish out authentic Texas-style barbecue and craft beer at Chicago Culinary Kitchen, located in the North Quentin Plaza mall, 773 N. Quentin Road. Chicago Culinary Kitchen is a hybrid business with cooking classes, catering, special gatherings and a weekend barbecue restaurant.

Chicago Culinary's brisket, pulled pork, spare ribs and other items on a limited menu are served from 11 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays until they run out.

Kristina Gaardbo is a certified craft beer expert and her husband is a pitmaster.

“Check, Please!” is in its 18th season. Longtime host Alpana Singh is back with the show after a five-year hiatus, and will lead Ely and two other panelists in discussions about the episode's restaurants.

Last week's “Check, Please” featured Niche Restaurant in Geneva and Montarra Grill in Algonquin.
