Day 3 and W. Chicago police still not communicating with public about death investigation

More than three days have passed since West Chicago police began investigating the death of a man whose body was found Friday morning in the front yard of a home on the 600 block of East Forest Avenue.

Since that time, they have refused to release any details, including the man's identity and whether they believe the death to be natural, accidental or a homicide.

Police have not responded to emails or phone calls regarding the investigation since Friday afternoon.

Paul Darrah, spokesman for DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin, said there were no updates to report and authorities are still handling the case as a death investigation and not a homicide probe.

DuPage County coroner's officials said Saturday afternoon that an autopsy had been completed but refused to release any details.

A statement released by police Friday afternoon said, "Unless there is substantial information developed prior to the autopsy, we will provide additional details about this investigation after the scheduled autopsy."

No updates have been forthcoming.
