DuPage County honors veterans with ceremony in Wheaton

DuPage County honored those who served their country in the military with a Veterans Day Observance on Sunday at the DuPage Care Center in Wheeling.

The ceremony featured the posting of the colors by the DuPage Honor Guard, a reading of the "Star Spangled Banner Poem" by Alicia Myrick and an invocation by the Rev. Andrew Hougan, the care center's chaplain.

Ken Jacobs of Veterans Memorial, Inc. served as the featured speaker and Air Force veteran Doug Carmichael closed out the ceremony with a bugle performance of "Taps."
