Arlington Heights first responders collecting toys, coats for needy

Arlington Heights first responders are collecting coats and toys for the needy this winter.

Arlington Heights Firefighters Association Local 3105 is sponsoring its seventh annual coat drive in conjunction with Arlington Heights Elementary District 25, along with its toy drive for Toys for Tots. Items will be collected Nov. 15-Dec. 15 at all four fire stations: 300 E. Sigwalt St., 1150 N. Arlington Heights Road, 2000 S. Arlington Heights Road and 3030 N. Arlington Heights Road.

The police will be collecting toys through Dec. 9 at the department's temporary headquarters, 1500 W. Shure Drive, and at village hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road. The department also partners with the Rolling Meadows Meijer store, which provides gift cards to officers to purchase additional toys for the donation effort.
